seriously?

There are some things I never thought would happen in my life. And yesterday was one of them.

This summer I am working as a Case Worker in a Treatment Centre (a.k.a Halfway House) at the Salvation Army in Yellowknife. I work with men who are 18 years or older who have come through the Justice System – whether Territorial or Federal. These are men who have served at least 1/6 of their sentence in prison and are now continuing out their time in the community. There are a few guys who are Self–Admitted, but we largely work with inmates and Parolees. Seriously, I have never been this excited about a job in my entire life. I love it here. I actually come early most days and I don’t even mean to – I’m just in my niche here.

Anyways, back to yesterday – I was serenaded by a “Hell’s Angel” and a “Bandito.”

“You look wonderful tonight” by Eric Clapton.

Who knew…
